October Empties & Project 10 Pan | 2015

Hey everyone! In today's blog post, you can check out my trash aka see all the products that I've finished up this month! Also, I am happy to announce that I will be starting Project 10 Pan! It is my first time trying it out and I will not be showing all the products that I want to finish before hand because I feel like that will be a recipe for disaster. I know it works and motivates other people but for me, I am doubtful! I also want to mention that I want to really challenge myself and keep it separate from my empties. Therefore, any items you see in my next month's blog post for empties will not duplicate onto my Project 10 Pan.

With getting that out of the way, let's check out which products I loved and didn't care for!

Hair
Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil  - This is a repurchase of mine and you can notice that it is in the old packaging. That's because I used this sparingly and finally finished it up. I would repurchase for the third time but I am currently trying out a new hair oil.

Selsun Selenium Sulfide Lotion Extra Strength 2.5%  - I have Tinea Versicolor on my back and use this product to help treat it at home. I like the extra strength formula better than the other formula that contains botanicals. This bottle is smaller but it works quicker and you need less of it in my opinion. Also, I included it in the hair category because my scalp is problematic (as in it is oily yet dry at the same time but not itchy,) and it helped me with that issue. It is very inexpensive and I buy mine at Wal-Mart for between $10-$13 CAD.

Mouth
Dentek Triple Clean Floss Picks - I know this is a bit of an odd category but if it can help someone out then I'm all for it! I love these flossers and they do not break when I am using them! They are my favourite ones to use at the moment!

Colgate Enamel Health Whitening Toothpaste in Clean Mint - This was a very basic and standard toothpaste. It didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I would only repurchase it if it was on sale. It wasn't memorable and didn't stand out in my opinion.

Face
BiorĂ© Deep Cleansing Pore Strips For The Face (8 Count) - These are a repurchase and I really enjoy using them for my white heads! I use the face strips on my nose and find that they work just as well!

Mario Badescu Drying Cream - Oddly enough, I purchased a full sized version of this product and when it was almost gone, I received a sample of the exact same product in the mail. It took me a while to use it up but it's gone now and will be interested in purchasing a full sized version again of this! It is only sold in a few stores in my province so I will have to check online before I go to scout this product out in-store. This product not just helped dry out my pimples, it also got under my skin to eliminate any bumps that formed due to oil build-up!

Fresh Rose Face Mask - I love just about anything rose scented and this left my skin feeling soft and for lack of a better word, FRESH! I would consider trying out a larger version of this. I am awful with remembering to use face masks so that's why I didn't say full sized version and only said larger version. Not sure if that exists though - I would have to look into it some more.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life - I actually got several of these samples both deluxe as well as single use samples. I have one more that I need to use up but overall, I did enjoy this formula. It is very lightweight, not sticky and doesn't transfer onto my bed sheets because I use this at night. The smell is light and pleasant.

Body
Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Dark Kiss - If I was forced to choose a favourite scent from BBW (which is very hard to do because there are so many,) I would probably choose this one. It doubles as a perfume and I have been complimented on this scent numerous times. I had one women tell me that this scent reminds her of Thierry Mugler's Angel. This has been discontinued but I seen it in my local BBW about 2 weeks ago as they have brought it back into the stores for a short time and were selling it part of the 3 for $15 deal. If you are interested, I suggested that you check it out!

The Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel - This travel sized bottle lasted me quite some time and I enjoyed using it. The scent is just alright and I wouldn't commit to the full sized verison.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream - I felt as though I used up this product a lot faster than the regular shower gel. It didn't moisture my skin a whole lot but just slightly. I still used a cream/lotion after I finished showering in conjunction with using this product.

Hands
Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - I have used up several of these in the past you you already know that I have many other back-ups in my bathroom cupboards!

Vitamins
Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies (80 Count) - I can't tell you how many people that I have recommended this product to that have actually bought it and seen great results! This is very inexpensive as I buy my bottle at Wal-Mart for $7.97. I have many back-ups in my stash and I will continue to purchase these dummies for as long as they still carry them in-stores!

Diem Vitamin B12 - 1000 mcg (100 Tablets) - I had these laying around in the house because my dad was no longer taking them so I decided to take them because I heard that it boosts energy. I didn't see any difference and wouldn't take them again. You take one tablet a day, put it under my tongue until it dissolves. I found that it is hard on my stomach and I need to take food with this vitamin. I also swished some water in my mouth when the tablet was under my tongue to help it dissolve faster.

Berlin's Fish Oil with Vitamin D (EPA/DHA 720 mg per serving) - I tried two of these samples and loved them! It is very easy to take, I took mine straight on a spoon but you can also mix it into different recipes. It has no fishy taste and the Mango Peach flavour is delicious! There is no sugar as it is naturally sweetened with xylitol, it is ultra purified, there are no artificial colours or flavours, it is gluten free and NON-GMO!

Candles
Bath & Body Works White Barn Scented Candle in Cherry Blossom Sangria - I really loved this scent! Is is a perfect Spring scent that it not too strong or overpowering yet puts you in a great mood while it's burning! At least, this candle put a smile on my face every time I smelled it when I re-entered the room! I would purchase a three wick candle of this particular scent in the Spring time! I also already depotted it to use it for another purpose. The mini-mason jar idea is genius and it does get hotter than the other containers when it burns so be careful!

Bath & Body Works White Barn Scented Candle in Lavender Vanilla - This was more of a calming scent (more vanilla than lavender,) in my opinion and it would be great to help re-create that spa like environment/smell inside your very own house! They have quite a long burn time for such a small candle which I was very happy about! It says on the bottom that it burns for about 10 hours which I would have to agree with!

Thanks for stopping by my lovely readers!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Romwe Haul #2 & Opinions

Hey everyone! I decided to place another order with Romwe and now, I have more developed thoughts as well as better opinions formed now.

Let me start off by saying that I thought that this order was well worth the money that I had paid! The only two disappointing things were that there were many loose threads coming out of the articles of clothing and that I had to pay a brokerage fee yet again.

With that out of the way, these pieces are nicely constructed, they don't feel too cheap and I have worn a few pieces already so it is safe to say that they are comfortable! Specifically the plaid shirt pictured down below to the left of the photo. I actually purchased mine in a size medium because the small was sold out and I like the oversized version better than something more fitted per se!

Last blog post I forgot to mention that on Romwe, you are able to pre-order items that can be sold to you at a much lower price if you are one of the first ones to go ahead and buy it. There are different prices whether you are between the 1st-20th order opposed to being between the 21st-100th person to order that particular item.

It should be noted that both white tops (the white button-up is not included in what I'm speaking about here,) have large slits on both sides of the shirt going up. It is hard to see in the photos but I am excited to start styling these two basic tops into something that fits within my style!

Also, the green long sleeveless vest is a great piece that even includes a belt however, the only thing that REALLY bothers me is that the pocket are sewn shut. That is a major pet peeve of mine especially when they do that with jeans!

The button-up white shirt does look slightly different from what I had imagined it to look like in person but I will just have to work with it. I am excited to wear the black top with the lace detailing at the back! I bought it so that it could go with a specific look I had in mind!

That's all for now!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Experience From Ordering Online With Romwe

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience based on the first online order that I had placed on Romwe. I had been on the web site maybe a year or two earlier several times but I never ended up making a purchase. However, I seen advertising on the side bar when I was randomly browsing the Internet one day which immediately triggered my memory. I wasted no time and clicked the banner and began browsing the site.

As you look around and compare different items, you will notice one thing in common: they are being sold at a very low price! There are always promotions running which offer an additional discount on the web site. There are some reviews that I have read online with customers who really dislike this company and I would have to tell you not to believe everything that you read. I can't speak to their customer service because I didn't have any issues with my order and didn't have to contact anyone about my parcel or the contents inside it. I did order fall and winter pieces as well as summer items because I am going away next month.

If you are wondering if this is too good to be true? I must tell you to keep in mind that these items are made in China and some items are great quality and others are well, not so fantastic. As you will be able to tell by the photos, some items ARE NOT LINED and are basically see-through. You would not know this on the web site because the item description does not disclose this. Another point is that their sizing is quite strange so you need to pay attention to it. I wanted to order a pair of jeans but the measurements started at a 22" inch waist give or take half an inch to an inch. I didn't want to order a pair of jeans and be stuck with them.

My parcel arrived with all the items in the correct sizes but I did have to pay a brokerage fee. I was honestly confused because I have had to pay duties on parcels before but never a brokerage fee. One thing that I do not understand is that the representative who was taking my payment for the brokerage fee, he told me that the parcel was coming from the USA but on the parcel, it stated that it came from Singapore.

I live in Canada so honestly, we never get a break! I have cut down my online shopping quite significantly over the years. I made this order from Romwe an exception because the prices were in CAD dollars so I didn't have to worry about the conversion fee.

Also, I placed quite a large order because the site features so many great items and I wanted to make it worth my while. I ended up getting free express shipping which still took almost two weeks to get to my house. I would suggest not paying any money out of your pocket to get it shipped out quicker to your residence.

When I opened up my package, I noticed that there are no tags hanging on the items. Some people may not like this but I am indifferent about it. Cutting off the tag is one less thing for me to do anyway. It tells you what size each garment is anyway on the inside tag sewn into the garment.

Overall, there was only really one piece that I was disappointed with because it looked TOTALLY different from the photo in the web site. (The sheer orange long sleeve top with the cut-out at the back shown above.) Some photos are taken from Sabo Skirt and ASOS so be warned! I have placed another order with Romwe and will see how long that one takes to get to me because I didn't qualify for express shipping this time. I needed to add 0.23 cents more to my order to qualify for the express shipping but I couldn't make up my mind on what item I should add to my cart therefore I left it as is.

Warehouse Sale/Outlet Shopping Collective Haul

Hey everyone! Today I will be showing you all the different items that I picked up over the last few days. There are many warehouse sales/promotions going on and it's an exciting time of the year for many of us!

Before I start off with my actual haul, I just want to mention that I did attend the BCBG featuring Lole Warehouse Sale. I want to say that it was VERY disappointing. The dresses I found to be tacky, the dress pants were still too expensive because I factored the price of hemming onto the $40 they were being sold for because they are far too long to wear as is and I left without buying anything.

There is a limit of 10 items per person that you can take into the fitting room and you can't bring a stroller inside the change rooms. Also, as I was walking up to the entrance, I noticed that there were garbage bins and poles as well as chains to help formulate a line I suppose. Other warehouse sales that I have attended at this venue, there have been coffee cups as thrown on the grass and pavement which looked quite disgusting to be honest.

Next I went to Orfus Road. I have been going here for years and there was a time where it wasn't too great and there weren't that great of a selection as far as stores are concerned. However, I feel as though it has gotten a lot better and they even put a Burger Priest at the corner of Dufferin and Orfus Road where the Demetres used to be. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Orfus Road, it is off Dufferin just minutes away from Yorkdale Mall in North York and not too far from the 401. There are many outlet stores on this road and people come here to shop. It gets very busy on the weekends so be forewarned!

The top above that I purchased is from a store called Ya Ya & Co. They have a few locations that come to mind: Orfus Road, Toronto Premium Outlets and Niagara Outlets. They have beautiful pieces and also offer shoes as well as accessories. There is a fitting room in this store and you are able to try on the items before you purchase them. I am saying this because not all stores on Orfus Road offer change rooms. You just pick what you want to buy and hopefully it fits. There are security guards in some of the stores and you can't try on items over your existing clothes inside the store either. I digress, anyway, the sales associates are very helpful and I will be returning here soon! The top that I purchased retails for $60 was being sold for $49.95 and I ended up purchasing it for only $15 saving a grand total of $45.

My next stop was Ardene. I come specifically to the Orfus Road location to purchase my nose rings in bulk. However, I couldn't even find one pack and the other piercings they had on sale were not ones I would buy. I need to find a new place unfortunately. It wasn't a wasted trip because I ended up buying 5 pairs of sunglasses for $10 which work out to be $2 each. Normally, each pair of shades retails for $8.50 and I ended up saving $32.50 in total. The four sunglasses to left remind me of similar styles that Quay Australia offers on their web site. I know that I do not need any sunglasses but these I couldn't pass up!

I had been wanting a nice Roots hoodie for as long as I could remember. I decided to take a look inside the store to try my luck. Honestly, when you enter the store, there are nice looking pieces at the front of the store which are the new arrivals. To find the good deals, you need to walk to the back of the store. If you are in a rush, I DO NOT recommend coming here unless you know EXACTLY what you want because if you quickly browse, a lot of the items will look the same to you. Also, there are fitting rooms which is a huge plus.

I ended up coming here on Thursday and Friday because I was in the area both days. On the Thursday, that is when I scored the gorgeous hoodie which is exactly my style: classic yet edgy at the same time. It was regularly $78, marked down on sale to $44.99 and I received an extra 25% off the sale sticker so it ended up costing me $33.75. Just alone on the sale price, I saved $11.25 and from the original price, I saved $44.25.

I came back again on Friday and right away, I noticed that they had changed their sale to save an extra 40% off selected sale items. I was glad that I had waited to buy the matching sweats! I have no idea how much the sweats retail for originally because that price has been cut off the tag but the sweatpants were marked down to $34.98 and I saved an extra 40% off. I ended up getting the pants for $20.99 and I saved $13.99 on the sale alone! If you think of it this way, for the hoodie and the pair of sweatpants, I paid less for both items than if I were to purchase the hoodie at regular retail value.

Lastly, I was invited to the L'Oreal Sale in North York around York University. You need an invitation to go and they used to send a paper invitation but now it is an email with a barcode that they scan. They scan it for you to three times: to enter the sale, at the cash register when you make a purchase and also before you leave the sale. There were some great deals and there were items that I can't find in stores anymore that I ended up finding here such as: The L'Oreal Oleotherapy Hair Mask, Shampoo and Conditioner.

I really didn't need any more nail polish but I must say that the Essie nail polish display was very tempting but I did refrain from purchasing anything on there! The only purchase that I made was the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) mascara set which includes: a mini of the YSL CC Creme Colour Corrector in Apricot with an SPC of 35, The Top Secrets Pro Removers Eye Makeup Remover Bi-Phase + and a full size of The Baby Doll Mascara which is supposed to give a false lash effect to your lashes.

I know that it is hard to read above because there was a sticker on top of the price and someone had peeled it off. What is says is that the retail price of the set is $36 and the total value of the set is $56. I ended up picking up the set for $21.75 and saving $34.25. I looked on Sephora and the mascara is full sized that I received, which retails for $36 on their web site. What I really wanted to purchase was the YSL Touche Eclat in number 2 but little did I know, you had to purchase the entire set to get this specific product - you could not purchase it individually.

Parking does get crazy and there are employees that help you find a parking spot. If that is full, there is an overflow parking area. It is free to park which is a plus. It is a bit tricky to get to so I recommend planning it out in advance or using a GPS to get here. I would suggest going on a week day opposed to a week end if you are able to. I remember coming here years ago and having a stand in line to get in. This is probably one of my favourite warehouse sales to attend and I would recommend it if you can get an invite. I must also mention on the invite that you are limited to two visits and you can bring one friend. However, the both of you combined can only purchase up to a certain amount and are limited to certain quantities of various products. I will say that it is very well organized and I don't mind traveling to come here.

Overall, it was a successful few days of shopping for the most part and I finally have a Roots hoodie which I am excited to start wearing!

As always, thanks so much for reading my blog post and more posts will be coming your way soon!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
